Georgia is now Hopper, what a successful story!

First, I would like to thank to all the donors for Hopper's surgery. Donors names are listed below with some anonymous donors. Special recognition for your generousity especially Lost Animal Soul Shelter of Malaysia who donated 3,350 Php. All the details and receipts are posted below.

So heres how the story begin. Please bear with me about my english grammar! I am just a pet lover, never a degree holder.😅😄😂

Last year, when I was working as a Small town lottery teller I used to bring cat food and feed the stray cats around my booth in Kawit Cavite Philippines. They have no shelter but the underneath of those cars that were parked at the parking lot so seeing the cats like a Rambo look because of the engine oil was usual. Until I met Rose who also coming around to feed the stray animals. Unknowingly Rose has a neighbor named Nonita who had many dogs and their situations was very awful. Nonita had 16 dogs with her, some of them were also rescued dogs but Nonita is not that knowledgeable and capable when it comes to vaccines, feeding, deworming and castrations that made them more puppies born. So Rose asked me some help what to do. Since I already had two rescued cats at my apartment, I already read some animal groups in facebook where someone who can post pets for adoptions. So I posted their photos, luckily we found adopter and we successfully sent them for adoptions. Don't worry we screened them. We only left 3 dogs with Nonita for her not to become sad of their separations.

Aside from that, there was a dog named Georgia that I called it Hopper when I saw her how she walks with an injured leg. She followed Nonita to the road and accidentally hit by a car. The old lady couldn't even afford to bring her to a Vet. Rose who is a nurse couldn't also afford to send her to doctor because they are already feeding 30 rescued cats and 10 dogs. Rose with her husband and their two children are all registered nurse. So amid of having no fund, they were able to give Hopper first aid. Bandage has been change, antibiotics and some medications administered to avoid sepsis. Those 10 years experience of Rose taking care of animals made her familiar how to assess dogs illnesses and treatments. She also had a free consultations of Georgia's case to their Vet even via phone. The given medication was just temporary. The Veterinarian doctor suggested that its better to cut the full injured leg via surgery instead of putting other way of treatment like bone cement or by using prosthetics. And the doctor decided to give a doctor's fee discount after seeing Georgias case through photos. The surgery fees range from 14,000 to 16,000 Php that could become 10,000 Php only when discounted.

I started Hopper's post at July and completed the donations totalling 10,350 Php on November 2019.  Month of October there was a free castration in Bacoor City Vetirenarian Services Office. We decided to register Hopper for castration to avoid unwanted pregnancy prior to her surgery and to reduce her pain if spaying would be done  separately from her leg operation. And then she was spayed successfully.

The scheduled Vet clinic for her surgery was in Kings Road Veterinarian Clinic located in Molino IV Bacoor Cavite Philippines. Rose was informed by the clinic that they cannot accept patients for the time being because the clinic was under renovations. After that, holidays had come and gone that also delayed Hopper's surgery.

I used to visit Rose and I noticed Hopper's injured leg was so reddish. That was late of December.

Then on January 2020, Rose brought Hopper to Kings Road Vet Clinic to have her vital signs and blood chemistry check as part of preparation for her surgery.

Unfortunately her platelet count were so low that cannot undergo surgery. The doctor prescribed her medicines and needed to monitor her CBC for follow up as well as test for ehrlichiosis.

Her follow up results were still low. The Vet checked deeper and found out that there were fleas inside her ears where continue infecting her. So she had to take Nexguard to kill any larvae in her body and serve as prevention too.

Also the doctor has prescribed all best possible treatment like erythropoitin injection and tawa tawa herbal to increase her red blood cell in ordeptp to get the optimum level of platelet for a surgical procedure to be done soon.

Rose told me that all donations had been used for the treatment of Hopper's ehrlichiosis and the surgery should be done soon once the complete blood count becomes stable. I tried to post it again for the second time on facebook to ask another 10,000.00 Php donations but due to lockdown on March, people are restless and ignored the posts.

Then doctor decided to do the surgery because the uncertainty of lockdown may put Hopper's situation into critical, we may go back to zero and keep coming back tracking her stable blood count. Me and Rose discussed about it and we both have agreed to borrow money first and do the fundraising later after the lockdown. I would like to express my sincerest thanks to Rose and her husband for all the hardship and effort they devotedly contribute with so much love for Hopper. Bringing Hopper to Clinic repeatedly is really a time consuming task, and after the surgery they are the one who removed the suture because the President of the Philippines has an order of Enhanced Community Quarantine and it was impossible to bring back Hopper to the Vet Clinic. I am personally inspired how they change Hopper's bandage everyday despite the fact that they still have 10 dogs and 30 cats to feed, to clean their mess and yet I never saw them complaining.

Hopper: To all my donors😘😍, thank you for your generous donations that made my injured feet away. Now I can freely walk and roam around without a fleshless legbone. Special thanks to Mommy Rose for taking care of me, for giving me a comfort clean home, now I am flawless and happy and thank you for finally adopting me!🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶

This project would not have been possible without the participation of a young woman named Hazel. She was in her way home when she spotted Hopper on the street following Rose. Hazel was in the mini bus and she went down curiously wanting to know what happen to the injured dog. She took out some biscuits from her bag and tried to bribe Hopper to tell her what this leg story all about. On that moment Hopper had led the girl on my Lottery Booth where Rose used to feed the cats around. After conversations with her she offered to share my fundraising post to her facebook friends in fact some of the donors are her office mates.

While we have made some great strides, the surgery fee of Hopper amounting 10,000.00 Php or 200 USD still has to pay back. Would you consider donating 5$ to help us pay back this 200 USD loan. We would greatly appreciate your donations. I would surely update once we meet the target amount. Please help us. We are not asking for donors who donated already. We are glad and greatful to receive donations once.

Regards to your sweetest and cutest pets at home.
